Its title sounds like a cross between Steven Spielberg and Orson Welles, and, indeed, it contains fantastical, sci-fi-like elements aplenty, but "Encounters at the End of the World" is just a simple, straightforward documentary.Well, not "just" -- and maybe not so simple. How could it be, when its director-narrator is Werner Herzog, a man who unfailingly warms -- or in this case, cools -- to his esoteric subject.
